RS PRO Infrared Temperature Sensors
Introducing the high-quality RS PRO non-contact IR Thermal Infrared Temperature Sensor. The infrared temperature sensor is extremely small, with a side-entry cable making it ideal for mounting in tight spaces. Featuring configurable parameters for temperature range, alarm output and emissivity settings to give full control of temperature sensing requirements. The infrared temperature sensor measures the average temperature within a spot.
The size of the spot will depend on the distance between the IR sensor and the surface. The sensor's measuring range is very wide, it can be positioned very close to the target surface, to measure a small area, or used at long distances measuring a larger spot. The accuracy of the sensor is not affected by the measurement distance.
Features and Benefits
Non-contact IR temperature sensor, ideal for industrial, laboratory or benchtop applications
Simultaneous voltage and alarm outputs
Built-in backlit display and controls
Voltage output: 0 to 5 V dc, 1 to 5 V dc, or 0 to 10 V dc linear output for measured temperature
Adjustable temperature range scaling
Open collector alarm output with configurable setpoint and hysteresis
Measures from 0 ºC to +1000 ºC accurately and consistently
Fast response time – a fraction of a second
IP65 rated
The mounting bracket 905-8777 provides fixed or adjustable mounting for aiming the sensor.
The air purge collar 905-8770 helps stop dust and condensation from settling on the lens allowing the sensor to maintain accurate measurements.
Product Application Information
Materials such as paper, plastics, rubber, wood, tarmac, food, pharmaceuticals and organic matter can all be measured using the RS PRO infrared temperature sensor straight from the box with no need to configure any settings. Painted metal surfaces are also easy to measure.
The small size of the RS PRO infrared temperature sensor makes it ideal for fitting in restricted spaces, such as between a wheel and disc brake. The temperature of the brake disc can be measured at either the rim or hub.
Measure Objects on a Conveyor
Gaps between objects on a conveyor can be ignored with the included Peak and Valley Hold function. The voltage output will ignore low or high readings for a chosen period, so the sensor does not display or output the higher or lower temperature if there is a gap.
Measure Objects in Ovens and Furnaces
The included Reflected Energy Compensation feature provides improved accuracy when measuring objects inside an oven or furnace, with the sensor positioned outside the hot environment and aimed in.
