Product details

Two Axis Industrial Potentiometer Joystick

This joystick is equipped with a dual axis giving you North, South, East and West control (X and Y axis). It is sprung to centre and the use of 5 K potentiometers gives it a smooth, precise feel.

Cost effective, industrial quality joystick
Ideally suited for keyboard applications (CCTV, control panels etc)
Low profile installation and ergonomic design
4mm solid stainless steel shaft with self centering mechanism
Includes circular bezel and standard gaiter
Temperature range -10 to +55°C
0.125W per potentiometer

Panel Mounting

It is panel mounted from beneath the panel and held in place with No. 2 self-tapping counter-sunk screws. These screws are inserted from the top through the bezel. The length of the screws would depend on the thickness of the panel.

Potentiometers

The 5000 series joysticks are fitted standard with 5 K potentiometers with a 220º track. The shaft deflection angle is a nominal 40º. A typical 5 V supply thus result in a full scale nominal deflection from 2 V to 3 V. Giving an operating nominal 2.5 V centre. These potentiometers are designed for use as a variable potentiometer divider, rather than a two-pin variable resistor. For optimum performance, the output signals ideally must be fed into a load of greater than 1000 K. This is due to noise generated by the contact resistance of the wiper to the track.

Features & Benefits

Cost effective, industrial quality joystick
Ideally suited for keyboard applications (CCTV, control panels typically)
Low profile installation and ergonomic design
4 mm solid stainless steel shaft with self-centring mechanism
Includes circular bezel and standard gaiter
Temperature range -10 to +55°C
0.125 W per potentiometer

Product Application Information

This joystick is ideally suited for use in applications where the installed depth is critical due to space restrictions. Including CCTV panels or keyboards but could extend to various other applications.
