Product details

Mitsubishi Alpha 2

Fifteen new function blocks have been added to the instruction set, including mathematics calculations, and PWM and SMS text messaging. Providing new possibilities for analogue signal processing and automatic status reporting
An enlarged backlit information display screen with 4 lines each with 12 characters, features new options such as bar graphs and moving text displays
Each of the four DIN rail/panel mount base units can be expanded with a choice of one of four I/O expansion modules to give a total of up to 28 I/Os. The expansion modules available are: Four digital 24V DC inputs with two integrated 1kHz counters, 4 digital 240V AC inputs, 4 relay outputs and 4 transistor outputs
As with the earlier version of the Alpha, up to eight of the inputs on the base unit of the dc powered/input types can be configured as 0 - 10V analogue inputs. The resolution on the Alpha 2 has been improved to 20 mV (9 bits)
Operating temperature range has been extended from 0 to 55°C to -25 to +55 °C, with the same precision and reliability, making the unit suitable for enclosed outdoor use and refrigeration applications
A second communications port enables SMS text messages to be sent to mobile phones, e-mails to PCs and faxes in addition to using remote maintenance functions via modem. The control unit can also communicate with other controllers or peripheral components
Security can be ensured by three-levels of password protection to prevent unauthorised access to program and process variable data
The ALPHA 2 can be programmed directly using buttons on the front panel, but for significant improvements in programming speed and ease, ALVS programming software stock no. 443-3864 and cable stock no. 340-1939 is recommended. (See Alpha range for cable details and also panel mounting kits)
The starter kit stock no. 443-3820 offers a significant cost saving to get you started

Mitsubishi Alpha 2

ALPHA 2 is an enhanced version of the existing ALPHA, achieving solutions that were not previously possible. With many powerful new features, it is ideal for building and smaller industrial automation applications. Key enhancements include a tripling of program capacity to 200 function blocks, two 1kHz high speed counters, an enlarged LCD display, I/O expansion options, extended operating temperature range and a second communications port.
