Computer security locks are devices that are fitted to computers in order to secure them against theft and unauthorised access.
Computer security locks work almost like a cable lock with a long, plastic covered steel cable with a key lock on one end, and a loop on the other. Most laptops, for example, have a special hole (K-slot) in the case, where a post on the computer key lock can fit. You attach the lock to your laptop and wrap the cable loop around a nearly unmovable or sturdy object such as a desk leg or heavy piece of equipment. Computer security locks are useful in domestic as well as industrial and commercial settings.
Some computer security locks come with an attachable adapter that adheres to the body of your laptop to cater for devices without lock slots.
Computer security locks come in two main types: combination locks and key locks.
