RS PRO Thermally Conductive Gel Gap Pad Filler

RS PRO range of high performance ultra soft thermally conductive gel gap filler which are designed to fill the air gap between uneven surfaces. Thermal gap filler pads and gels provide a thermal interface between heatsinks (devices or substances for absorbing unwanted or excess heat) and electronic devices. They’re particularly useful where air gaps, rough surface textures or uneven surface topography prevent the use of traditional grease or paste.

RS PRO have a great range of products for the heating or cooling of electronic devices, components or enclosures to help devices maintain the right temperature to work effectively.

Options include the following with various thicknesses and thermal conductivity:
707-4730 - 0.5 mm, 2W/mK
707-4749 - 1.0 mm, 2W/mK
707-4742 - 1.5 mm, 2W/mK
707-4746 - 2.0 mm, 2W/mK

707-4755 - 0.5 mm, 4W/mK
707-4758 - 1.0 mm, 4W/mK
707-4752 - 1.5 mm, 4W/mK
707-4761 - 2.0 mm, 4W/mK

707-4764 - 0.5 mm, 6W/mK
707-4768 - 1.0 mm, 6W/mK
707-4777 - 1.5 mm, 6W/mK
707-4770 - 2.0 mm, 6W/mK

707-4774 - 0.5 mm, 12W/mK
707-4783 - 1.0 mm, 12W/mK

Features:

Good thermal conductivity
Compliancy - high compressibility 90%
Low hardness (Shore 00)
Low oil bleed - long term stability
Electrical insulating

Typical Applications:

Electronic devices need to maintain the right temperature to work effectively. If the conditions become too hot or too cold, this can cause the components to malfunction. In order to keep electronics components functioning at the right temperature, the devices use a variety of different elements such as thermal gap filler pads and gels that will keep the temperatures in the right parameters for quality performance. Thermal pads are used in various applications which include:

Flat panel displays
LED (light emitting diode) displays
Engine control units
Computer hard drives
Wireless communication hardware

FAQs

How do thermal pads work?
By keeping the internal components of electronic products from wear and tear resulting from high circuit board temperatures, thermal pads help to provide extended longevity. They’re also important in providing safety by eliminating the possibility of electrical fires. Thermal pads are soft and comfortable, which helps to provide vibration and shock damping to minimise potential damage to components. They’re manufactured in a variety of standard thicknesses and dimensions but can also be custom fabricated to fit various applications.
